The surface of this board is given various treatments including distressing and hand scraping with traditional tools, the timber is selected for it character filled knots and natural blemished which are filled and and then sanded individually to leave open knots and holes which give the appearance of an aged and weathered plank. The Weathered Beam top layer is given the appearance of an aged, fumed board with the application of coloured hardwax oils which are able to coat the deep embossed grain.

The 4 mm oak top layer of the Limehouse White embossed is hand finished to give a distinctive and individual surface which is then stained and sealed with 3 coats of Hardwax oil.

Lye is then hand applied to the oak surface which reacts with the natural acids in the wood and bleaches the surface preventing the oak from discolouring.
