Osmo Garden Stain – NEW Product
Price range: £1.46 through £65.62
Top coat in a variety of colours – ideal for the exterior
Extremely weather-resistant and UV stable, transparent coloured, satin wood coating for the exterior. Osmo Garden Stain is microporous and water-repellent. The dried coating is safe for humans, animals and plants (resistant to saliva and perspiration as per DIN 53160, suitable for children‘s toys as per EN 71.3).
Recommended Use:
Osmo Garden Stain is best suited for every exterior wood (except for decking): timber cladding, balconies, window shutters, fencing, pergolas, sheds, garden furniture, carports.
Surface Preparation:
Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (outside temperature min. +5 °C, moisture content max. 20%). If additional protection against blue stain, rot and insects is desired, pre-treat the wood if possible on all sides with Osmo WR Base Coat 4001. Osmo Garden Stain is ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well. If possible, please apply first coat to all sides before installation. Clean and sand existing intact finishes – remove any damaged finishes (sand away). Always wear a dust mask while sanding. The finished surface and the product coverage are influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
Methods of Application:
With Osmo Flat Brush, Microfibre Roller or Oil Finish Applicator Fleece, apply thinly and quickly lap for lap along the grain or in a spray application. Leave to dry for 3-4 hours under good ventilation. After drying, fine sanding between coats as needed. Apply the second coat also thinly and evenly. If possible, apply the first coat to all sides prior to installation. For renovations, one coat is usually sufficient.
Cleaning of tools:
Immediately after use, with soap and water.
Drying time:
Approx. 3-4 hours (normal climatic conditions, 23 °C/ 50 % rel. humidity). Ventilate well while drying. Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity may increase drying times.
Coverage:
Product coverage for 1 coat is 16 m²/1 l. It depends significantly on the character of the wood. All information refers to smooth and planed/cut surfaces. Other surfaces may lead to deviations in coverage.
Note:
Many wood species contain water-soluble coloured extractives which may leach out naturally when weathered. The oils and resins in exotic wood species and certain hardwoods (Oak, Locust, Larch, etc.) must weather away prior to application. This makes the wood absorbent and the wood finish bonds optimally.
